Higher Education and UCAS

The Sixth Form runs an extensive programme to support students in the process of making decisions about their future direction. The ‘Next Steps’ Programme runs through Year 12 and 13 and includes:

• Talks and speeches about the different routes to employment from industry specialist including O2 and Unilever. In these speeches, advice is also offered regarding the skills required and how to build your profile
• An educational visit to the National Apprenticeship Show
• Support in applying for university Summer Schools
• A campus day at the University of Surrey
• Work experience in Year 12
• Tailored support with university applications including writing the personal statement and applying through UCAS. We also offer fantastic support for those students looking to study ‘competitive courses’ such as medicine and courses at Oxbridge
• Tailored apprenticeship information in the local area and support in applying for positions
• Support in understanding student finance and how to apply for it. We hold an information evening with a local university to give students important knowledge
