KS5 A Level & Level 3 Results Day 2025
Students and staff at Three Rivers Academy Sixth Form are today celebrating record results for A Level and other Level 3 qualifications, with our highest ever number of A* and A grades and a 50% increase in the proportion of A* - B grades compared to 2024 results.
Top performers include Euan Hamilton (A*A*A) who has secured a place at Oxford University to Study Classical Archaeology and Ancient History, Megan Powell (A*A*A*) with a place at The London School of Economics to Study Politics with Sociology, Thea Sparrowhawk (A*AA) who will be studying Ancient History at the University of Exeter, and Rhiannon Leacock (A*AA) who will be heading to the University of Southampton to study Business management. The vast majority of students applying for university have secured their first course choice.
Students taking vocational courses (or a combination of both academic and vocational) also performed incredibly well, with 100% achieving a Pass or better.
Principal, Barbara Mayaire said, “We are absolutely delighted with these results, which are the best in the school’s history. They are a testament to the hard work of our students and the dedication of our wonderful staff. Our Sixth Form is now firmly the post-16 destination of choice for local students”
Students interested in applying to Three Rivers Academy Sixth Form for our 2025 or 2026 entry should contact the Head of Sixth Form, Mr A Detnon, via his email: Andrew.Detnon@threerivers.THPT.org.uk

Performance data for 2020 and 2021 was not published by the DfE, as the results were teacher-assessed. Given the uneven impact of the pandemic on school and college performance data, the government has said you should not make direct comparisons between the performance data for one school or college and another, or to data from previous years. The DfE is also not publishing any Value Added Data for 16-18 qualifications, as the GCSE grades on which this would be based were teacher-assessed in 2021.
