Our Curriculum Intent
D&T Statement of Intent
Our aim is to create the workforce of the future by developing business critical skills in problem-solving, innovation and team-work. Pupils develop designing, making and problem solving skills, learn about, computing, engineering, CAD, CAM, robotics, nutrition, materials and textiles technology.
In Design and Technology students will develop an understanding of how D&T can be utilised in a wide range of careers, whist developing independence and confidence across all material areas.
At Key Stage 3 students are assessed on Technical Knowledge, Designing, Making and Evaluating, as outlined in the National Curriculum. We want our students to be able to complete a wide variety of complex tasks and be able to confidently apply their learning in differing contexts.
Students should understand how D&T interleaves and complements all subject areas and offers opportunities to demonstrate their learning in context.
