GCSE Revision
Students in year 11should be revising for at least 90 minutes every day. This revision should be broken down into bitesize chunks of no more than 30 minutes at a time on a particular topic or subject. Alternating between subjects facilitates more effective revision.
Some of the best ways to revise involve breaking information into smaller manageable chunks through techniques such as:
- Mind maps
- Flash cards
- Cornell note taking
- The Leitner system
Students should make sure that they regularly go back over work they have already revised to check understanding and reduce any gaps in their knowledge. They should regularly practice past questions to not only check and consolidate their understanding but also build confidence in their exam skills.
